23 weeks.

I think he/she has moved from a dancer to a gymnast.

The other day, I was told that I look huge, both by a coworker and the lady at the nail salon. I wonder if the coworker was just trying to be a bitch... I have to say I think I look pretty small, although I've moved to looking like I swallowed a beach ball!

So here are the pics. It's a beautiful day, so I'm wearing the only maternity shorts in the house and pulling on my shirt

I have a dancing fool in my belly.

I must say I'm surprised my belly isn't blurry. Baby Feisty, as Mom has taken to calling him/her, was kicking like crazy when I took the picture.

You can sort of see my new haircut and highlights here.

The exposure is funky because of the dark shirt--it was hard to see my belly unless I lightened things up.

And the black and blue? Well, that's because I needed a top that was tighter than my work attire.

Updates

It has been an eventful week, all around...

Yesterday, I ended up on the labor and delivery floor at the hospital. I called the doctor's office about this pain I was having in my belly, and they said I should go to this place The Loft (it ended up being the antenatal wing). I told the nurse over the phone that I was at work and couldn't make it there until 3:30ish. She left a message with directions and said that she advised me to leave work as soon as possible.

Well, that just freaked me out. I imagined going into labor and having this baby right there... and at 22 weeks, he/she just wouldn't make it. I left work when I could (in tears) and got there as fast as I could.

I waited 45 minutes for a bed to open up!! Then I was hooked up to a fetal heart rate monitor (what a reassurance... I was starting to worry that there wasn't anyone in there anymore) and a contraction monitor. I got to watch Dr. Phil and the Ellen show, and took a nice little nap when I should have been teaching.

It turned out that I was not in fact having contractions. It seems as though I strained a muscle in my abdomen. It sucks and really hurts, but at least it isn't something worse! Nothing at all is wrong with the little bambino!

Pictures coming soon... this belly is starting to get big. It finally sticks out further than my chest, which ain't small potatoes either. (I had to buy new bras again, and cannot believe the size on this thing).

Whoa Nelly, lookit that belly!

21 week belly. Pants have become a problem... One size is too tight, the next is falling off of me.

Halfway

Today was a really stressful day for me, so it was nice to hang out with baby and see him/her for a while. Unfortunately, one of the first shots the ultrasound tech took (which didn't come out) was an incredible shot of the baby's face... it was amazing. The shot I posted here is a great one, too. I'm not totally sure why the shot of the hand is so large... I'll see if I can fix it another time.

So, now Marc knows if it's a boy or a girl. He says he feels much less stressed about it, now that he knows. Don't ask, because he's under penalty of death if he tells anyone!

After the ultrasound, meeting with the doctor was a total letdown. In fact, we wondered what was the point. Ah well.

Baby's heartrate remains 150 bpm, and he/she weighs 14 oz. In two weeks, we should have an appointment for a fetal echocardiogram to check for any heart defects.

Our next appointment is April 5.
