Phonics for a 2 year old? Not so much.

A loves to point out the R's (R for Rutgers, as he likes to exclaim!) on our drive. So, today I decided to ask, "can you think of any other words that start with Rrrrr?" I'm not sure what his first response was, but I asked, "Did you say 'chicken'?" and he said yes. "Ok, what about 'red'? Does that start with Rrrr?" "Noo!" "Are you sure? I think it's Rrrred!" "No, Mommy, it's Rrrrwhite!"

Hm...

Nonetheless, we still went through some R words, and as I'm going I'm realizing that R probably wasn't the best sound to start with.

He then asked if he could go to the beach, because he wants to build sandcastles with Grampy.
